A 2-day course in Auditing Skills The Course
This is an advanced course for those wishing to gain an in-depth understanding of the auditing skills required for effective internal auditing of managements systems. The course addresses the ISO 9000:2000 series of standards, but the skills acquired are also applicable to auditing of Environmental Systems.
Who should attend
Personnel who will have responsibilities for auditing the Quality Management System and others wishing to gain an insight to auditing practice.
Pre-requisites:-
Participants should have attended the Foundation Course Q1 or be able to demonstrate knowledge of the ISO 9000:2005 series of standards including ISO 9001:2008 to an equivalent level acceptable to IRCA.
Content
By the end of the course it is expected that successful delegates will be able to:-
- Describe the responsibilities of an internal auditor and describe the role of internal audit in the maintenance and improvement of management systems.
- Explain with reference to the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle and the Model of a process based Quality Management System, the purpose and structure of ISO 9001:2008.
- Plan and prepare for an internal audit.
- Gather objective evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records.
- Write factual audit reports that help to improve the effectiveness of the management system.
- Suggest ways in which the effectiveness of corrective action might be verified.
- Extensive practical exercises, including a "live" audit are an important feature of the course.

Delegates satisfactorily completing the course will receive an internationally-recognised Certificate which satisfies the training requirement for Certification by IRCA as a Registered Internal Auditor.
