BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is changing!

ISO (International Organisation for Standardization) is developing a new standard ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. ISO 45001 will replace the British Standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

This new international standard will provide organisations all over the world with a consistent framework which will improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks along with creating better and safer working conditions.

The standard will be based on the Annex SL framework and will therefore, follow other generic management system approaches such as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

It is anticipated that the publication of ISO 45001 will be the end of March 2018.

Organisations currently certified to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 will have a three year transition period in order to meet the requirements of ISO 45001.

To ensure that CCAS continues to offer a first class service, we have applied to the United Kingdom Accreditation Service to become a UKAS accredited ISO 45001 certification body.

Once the standard has been published, we will be offering regular updates and will offer our existing and future customers support through public seminars and training courses.
