ISO 45001:2018 Standard Released

ISO 45001 is the new international standard for occupational health & safety and replaces the British Standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

Released earlier today, the new standardĀ provides organisations all over the world with a consistent framework which is aimed at improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks along with creating better and safer working conditions.

ISO 45001 is intended for organisations of all sizes and working within all industries and can be integrated into other health & safety programs such as worker wellness and wellbeing.

Based on the Annex SL framework, the standard follows other generic management system approaches such as ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. This brings an even greater closeness between all management system standards which reduces duplication, thereby saving money for companies that hold more than one approval.

Organisations currently certified to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 will have a three year transition period in order to meet the requirements of ISO 45001.

To ensure that CCAS continues to offer a first class service, we have applied to the United Kingdom Accreditation Service to become a UKAS accredited ISO 45001 certification body.

Updates will be available on the CCAS website and we will be offering our existing and future customers support through public seminars and training courses.

For organisations wishing to achieve ISO 45001 or looking to migrate/transition their existing OHSAS 18001 approval to ISO 45001, please contact a member of theĀ CCAS team on 01543 509533 ext. 202.
